BeeX announced the successful closing of its $7.7M USD Series A today. The round is led by Monk’s Hill Ventures, with participation from SEEDS (an arm of SG Growth Capital, the investment platform of the Singapore Economic Development Board and Enterprise Singapore), ShipsFocus, OCTAVE Capital, and NUS Technology Holdings. The capital will be used to expand BeeX’s fleet of autonomous underwater drones and its operational reach, as the company builds the defining autonomy platform for underwater operations.

The underwater world is one of the last frontiers of physical AI, but recent breakthroughs in robotics and machine learning have unlocked the ability to build reliable, autonomous systems for high-variability underwater environments. BeeX, with their fleet of autonomous underwater drones, is one of the first companies in the world to successfully push adaptive autonomy into operational maturity, delivering underwater autonomous capabilities for both critical commercial infrastructure and defense applications.
On the commercial side, BeeX serves the fast-growing offshore wind industry alongside oil and gas operators, subsea cable owners, and coastal infrastructure managers, all of whom carry inspection requirements that are regulated, recurring, and expensive to service by conventional methods. BeeX's autonomous inspection platform delivers a cost-efficient alternative at scale, with proven deployments across APAC and Europe for leading offshore asset owners.

On the defense side, navies and coast guards are undergoing a generational procurement shift, increasingly choosing autonomous systems for clearance diving, mine-counter measures, and base protection. Singapore's Ministry of Defence has partnered with BeeX on a category-defining multi-million dollar contract for national security applications, a strong validation of both the technology and BeeX's position within the global defense ecosystem.

BeeX was founded by Grace Chia and Goh Eng Wei, who together brought deep expertise in underwater robotics and defense. The company was built on a single premise – that the time was now to bring autonomy to the underwater domain in a reliable, robust and sustainable way.
"Closing this round marks an important milestone for BeeX," said Grace Chia, CEO of BeeX. "Our focus remains on delivering reliable autonomous capabilities that solve real operational challenges underwater. This funding allows us to expand our reach and build more technological capabilities, to meet the growing demand from customers across commercial and defense markets."

“The convergence of increasing off-shore infrastructure asset integrity requirements and defense modernization is creating a generational opportunity in underwater robotics that we believe BeeX is poised to capture, and we’re excited to partner with them as they continue to scale.” - Kuo-Yi Lim, Managing Partner, Monk’s Hill Ventures
“ShipsFocus is very pleased to continue supporting BeeX in this next stage of growth. The BeeX team has consistently demonstrated an ability to tackle complex operational challenges and translate deep technology into real customer value. For us, this is the clearest signal of the company's potential: not simply improving existing workflows, but enabling entirely new ways of operating.” - Chye Poh Chua, CEO, ShipsFocus Ventures
"BeeX represents the type of scalable ocean innovation that is needed to build a more sustainable and resilient maritime sector. At OCTAVE Capital, we invest in companies that combine strong commercial potential with measurable environmental and social impact, and BeeX embodies both. Its autonomous underwater systems help improve safety, reduce operational costs, and lower emissions by minimising the need for divers and support vessels.” - May Liew, CEO, OCTAVE
“Singapore’s maritime ecosystem and strengths in engineering provided a conducive testbed for BeeX to develop and deploy autonomous underwater vehicles to inspect, monitor, and protect critical underwater infrastructure. We are pleased to support BeeX’s global ambition to bring industrial-grade solutions to enhance the safety, resilience, and efficiency of underwater operations from Singapore to global markets.” - Christine Giam, Partner, SG Growth Capital
